FAQs

Question –  Are Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies available at Vista Oaks?

Answer –  Upon move in, with a physician order or if a resident living here over a longer period of time demonstrates a change in mobility, swallowing, dressing: the therapists believe a rehab program can improve functional ability, then rehab may be appropriate. In rehab we always strive to maximize functional independence at the highest safety level possible.

Question –  How are medications handled?

Answer –  If a resident is no longer able to self-administer their medications, nursing will administer on a timely basis, with a physician's order.

Question –  What are your room sizes and what is the availability?

Answer –  Our suites are approximately 400 sq. ft. with a large private bathroom. Each room has a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator. There is a sitting and bedroom area in each suite. All residents bring their own favorite furniture and personal items. We encourage each resident to decorate and personalize their room. Our facility is very home-like and during the day everyone is out socializing, participating in activities, enjoying the TV rooms and game areas. Typically Vista Oaks stays full with a waiting list. We are working daily with families to meet their future needs.

Question –  Do you have nursing support?

Answer –  We have a nurse available 24 hours a day to help you address any health issues you may have. Our staff will assist you with supervision of your medications, and will oversee your scheduled doctor visits. We offer three levels of care, with each level being assessed through a functional assessment and service plan.

Question –  Are there scheduled outings from Vista Oaks?

Answer –  Each month at the Residents Council Meeting decisions are made as to what and where residents would like to go. Currently these are just a few of the things we do: weekly dining out, aqua therapy, shopping trips, and movies.

Question –  Does Vista Oaks offer respite care?

Answer –  Vista Oaks offers Respite Care from three days up to six months. This care is offered for Rehab Services or if your loved one lives with you and is not able to stay alone at vacation time or for emergencies. They are able to stay with us.
